The Charleston-based singer/songwriter (of the Royal Tinfoil) presents “an evening of drunken ditties, love songs, and tasteless humor” every Monday night on James Island.

The live-band “Metal Monday” returns to West Ashley. Designed as a hard-rock karaoke, the house band will feature drummer Shawn Krauss, bassist/guitarist Mike Grimm, guitarist/bassist David Grimm, and singer/emcee Emily Richards. Sign-up starts at 9 p.m. It’ll be a bi-weekly thing this summer. The lineage dates back to the ol’ Johnny Ola’s days!

Local string quartet the Bushels perform a weekly residency at the award-winning downtown brewpub Edmund’s Oast (1081 Morrison Dr.) every Tuesday evening this spring and summer. Guitarist Jim Algar, mandolinist Mal Jones, banjo player, Guilds Hollowell, and bassist Whitt Algar will perform in the courtyard by the Bower from 6-9 p.m. It’s always free and open to the public.
