Sheldon Back in Action at the Tin Roof

A small throng of old-school metal fans and young headbangers nearly filled the Tin Roof in West Ashley on Sept. 7 for veteran Charleston rock trio Sheldon’s late-evening performance.

After an opening set from local band Volusia, the headliners — lead singer and bassist Daniel Garvin, guitarist Hodgi Garvin, and drummer Keith Smyly — took the stage and hammered through a loud, tight, dynamic set of riffy originals (many from their 1997 debut disc Psycho de Lia) … plus at least one cover — a heavy-handed rendition of Thin Lizzy’s “Jailbreak.”

Sheldon’s next show is solid for Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Oasis on James Island. Check out facebook.com/sheldonrocks for more.
